Keynote address delivered by Eagle Ray Claudio R Abaya

Greetings / amenities

To the  esteemed members and new inductees of the One Hinirang Elite Eagles Club, One Hinirang Elite Lady Eagles Club and Sambisig Hinirang Eagles Club, good evening to all.

It is with great honor and humility that I stand before you today to welcome our newest members into the esteemed Fraternal Order of Eagles. As we gather in the spirit of camaraderie and service, we reaffirm our commitment to the noble principles that have guided the Eagles organization for decades.

The Fraternal Order of Eagles stands as a beacon of hope, compassion, and community. With our wings spread wide, we embrace the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those around us. Together, we fly higher, reach farther, and touch more hearts than we ever could alone.

At the core of our mission lies the belief in the power of fellowship. It is through our collective efforts, fueled by empathy and solidarity, that we are able to uplift those in need and create positive change in our communities. Whether it’s supporting local charities, organizing fundraisers, or lending a helping hand to a neighbor in distress, each act of kindness ripples outward, leaving a lasting impact far beyond our immediate environment.

As we welcome our new members into our fold, we invite them to embrace the spirit of service that defines our organization. Let us remember that each one of us has the power to make a difference, no matter how small our actions may seem. By standing together, united in purpose and determination, we can overcome any challenge and build a brighter future for all.

To the new members, please ask yourself. Why did you join our nest? Is it for service, political or personal gain? What is the true meaning of brotherhood or sisterhood? The essence of brotherhood or sisterhood  lies in the bonds of camaraderie, support, and lifelong friendship that are formed among members. Brotherhood or sisterhood fosters a sense of belonging and unity, where individuals come together to support one another, uplift each other, and work towards common goals. It entails mutual respect, trust, and loyalty, creating a tight-knit community that extends beyond the confines of the fraternity itself. Brotherhood or sisterhood means standing by your brothers in times of need, celebrating their successes, and sharing in both joys and challenges as a unified family. It’s about creating lifelong connections and making a positive impact together, both within the fraternity and in the broader community.

It’s very nice to hear, isn’t it? But what I wonder sometimes is that the true brotherhood or sisterhood is not taken to heart by some members which makes me  feel disappointed and dismayed. Why? I am disappointed with what I see and read on social media. That instead of helping each other, we  resort to bickering and yet in public especially on Facebook  or in several group chat platforms. Are we not supposed to help a fellow eagle instead of shaming him publicly as sometimes the argument is so petty.

Why am I saying this? Because of social media, anyone can post content that is sometimes irresponsible and divisive. Like any organization, we have our share of challenges and issues to address. However, we must tackle these concerns with class and elegance. Therefore, we should not air our dirty laundry in public. Avoid bringing issues to social media that could be resolved internally.

As our Magna Carta highlights, commitment to community service and charitable endeavors emphasizes promoting liberty, truth, justice and equality while supporting various charitable causes such as medical research, education and community development. But in doing so, let us put the concept of eagleism in our hearts, minds and in our daily actions. We should be responsible for our actions and deeds.

Whether on the road or in compliance with traffic laws, we should adhere to the basics. I notice sometimes, I’m cut on the road and when a car or even a motorcycle passes, the car has an eagles sticker or emblem. I’ll just say to myself – “Oh, why do this my brother”. We are also subject to public scrutiny because of our blatant display of Eagles vanity plates. We should always check from transport authorities if this is allowed or not. So, I will say again and again especially to new members that being an eagle comes with discipline and responsibility.

Remember as eagles, we are not chicks, chickens, or vultures. We are not ordinary birds. We should always fly high and aim for the skies, with our wings spread wide. Together, let us spread our wings and soar to new heights of compassion, generosity, and brotherhood.  Let us be beacons of hope in a world that often feels dark and uncertain. And let us never forget the profound impact that we can have when we come together as one, under the banner of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

To our new members, I extend my warmest congratulations and deepest gratitude for joining us on this journey of service and fellowship. May your wings carry you far, and may your hearts be forever filled with the joy of giving and selfless service .

Thank you, and welcome to the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Good evening to all.  Long live the Eagles!
